Project 5 - Day 1

Today was the brief for project five - text as pattern. We went through a slideshow of examples which were helpful, I hadn't looked at typography in pattern much before and this gave me an idea of different approaches. Then we were left to do our initial research, photograph letter shapes in the world around us. I had read the brief a few times over before I started taking photographs which definitely helped - in the second part of the project, exploration, we are asked to create a colour palette to use in our designs by referring to the colours in our research. When I was taking the photographs today I noticed a palette colours I really liked in a photo - D. I knew that I needed to use colours from the research in the exploration and final designs so this palette is definitely my favourite so far for that, but I'm not ruling anything out yet, I haven't finished the alphabet.
